Business Support Team
Christine Bell- CEO
Having worked in shore-based marine industries for over thirty years, and in the ports since 2009, Christine’s initial role as Business Manager focused on delivery of the harbour’s diversification strategy developing new business for the harbour. She enjoys the variety of cross sector engagement, helping Eyemouth Harbour and its infrastructure benefit from traditional business in fisheries as well as emerging opportunities in marine tourism and offshore wind. Following completing her MBA in port management with distinction in 2021, and her promotion to Chief Executive, she is dedicated in leading the port into its next phase of regeneration, development, and decarbonisation.
In her spare time, Christine enjoys horse-riding and recently obtained her 1st Dan Black Belt in Tae-Kwon-Do.
Elaine Graham – Office Manager
Elaine Graham has been bringing almost 15 years of invaluable experience to her role. Elaine’s journey with Eyemouth Harbour Trust began as a Accounts Assistant, where she quickly became known for her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to keep everything running smoothly. Starting out in a small, two-person team alongside CEO Christine Bell, Elaine played a vital role in building the foundations of the business. As the Harbour Trust has undergone significant growth and transition, Elaine has been at the forefront of the changes, navigating the evolving landscape with grace and professionalism. Her deep knowledge of the trust’s operations, combined with her practical, hands-on experience, has made her an indispensable part of the team.
Outside of work, Elaine is passionate about travelling, swimming and enjoys challenging herself with jigsaw puzzles, a hobby she finds both relaxing and rewarding.
Emma Windsor – Clerical Assistant
Emma joined Eyemouth Harbour Trust in September 2023, bringing a diverse skill set and a passion for both the outdoors and technology. She holds a Level 2 Diploma in Animal Management and a Level 3 Diploma in Game & Wildlife, having always been drawn to country work, horse riding, and gamekeeping. Since joining the Eyemouth Harbour Trust team, Emma has developed a deeper understanding of how the Harbour operates and has also had the opportunity to contribute to social media and marketing, further expanding her skills and interests in these areas.
In her free time, Emma enjoys gaming and exploring new technologies, reflecting her keen interest in computers and technology.
Cristina Florea – Administrator
Cristina Florea is the Administrator at Eyemouth Harbour Trust, where she plays a vital role in supporting the organisation’s administrative functions, managing projects, and coordinating events. In her position, Cristina works closely with the Board of Trustees and the CEO to ensure the smooth running of all administrative processes, providing essential support for informed decision-making. She also collaborates with the operations team, office manager, and accounts department to ensure smooth daily operations and effective communication across all areas of the Trust. With over fifteen years of experience in administration and team support across a variety of sectors, including charities and investment banks, Cristina brings a wealth of knowledge and adaptability to her role at Eyemouth Harbour Trust.
Outside of work, Cristina enjoys staying active by going to the gym, taking long walks in Northumberland, and spending quality time with her family.
Operations Team
Brendan Bates – Harbour Master
Brendan Bates is a proud Eyemouth local with deep roots in the town’s fishing heritage. Growing up with strong family ties to the industry and a lifelong connection to the sea, he brings both heart and hands-on experience to his role. For over ten years, Brendan has been a key part of life at Eyemouth Harbour, and he’s been leading the way as Harbour Master for the past three. He looks after the day-to-day running of the port, ensuring that everything is in order and in line with maritime rules and regulations. Under his watch, the harbour has continued to grow and develop—something he’s genuinely proud to be part of. Passionate about Eyemouth’s future, Brendan is fully committed to helping the harbour thrive and supporting the wider community every step of the way.
In his spare time, he loves going on long walks with his dogs.
Charles Fisher- Deputy Harbour Master
As the Deputy Harbour Master at Eyemouth Harbour, Charles is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operations of the port, managing daily harbour activities, overseeing vessel movements, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations. His role encompasses coordinating with various stakeholders, including local fishermen, commercial vessels, and leisure craft operators, to maintain a harmonious and productive harbour environment. He has worked at Eyemouth Harbour since September 2021 and it has been great to see the developments here since then and future opportunities.
Charles lives just outside of Eyemouth and loves the outdoors, walking his dog along the coastline and spending time with his wife and kids.
Mark Wilson- Harbour Masters Assistant / Port facility Security Officer
As the Harbour Master’s Assistant and Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) at Eyemouth Harbour, Mark plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the port. Under the direction of the Harbour Master, he manages daily harbour activities, oversees vessel movements, and ensures compliance with maritime regulations. Mark’s responsibilities include working closely with a range of stakeholders—from local fishermen and commercial vessels to leisure craft operators—to help maintain a well organised, collaborative harbour environment. He has been part of the team at Eyemouth Harbour since June 2022 and has enjoyed seeing the ongoing developments and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
He lives in Eyemouth and enjoys the outdoors, and spending time with his family.
Ken Barrett – Harbour Assistant
With more than 50 years of maritime experience, Ken brings a deep wealth of knowledge to his role as Harbour Assistant. His extensive career includes time spent in the Merchant Navy, the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, and over five and a half years with the Coastguard, further expanding his expertise in coastal operations and safety. Ken’s involvement with Eyemouth Harbour Trust dates back to 1965, marking a lifelong connection to the harbour. Ken remains a valued figure in the maritime community, known for his dedication and vast knowledge.
In addition to his professional work at the harbour, Ken enjoys a peaceful life on his smallholding, where he tends to his animals. His trusty sidekick, Mac the goat, is always by his side, helping to manage the daily tasks of the farm.
Mark Stanbra – Harbour Assistant
Mark joined the Operations team at Eyemouth Harbour Trust in 2024, bringing with him an extensive background in both maritime and military service. With 14 years of experience as a full-time lifeboat crew member at Spurn Point in the River Humber and 24 years of service in Her Majesty’s Forces, Mark offers a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. He is excited to contribute to the vibrant and dynamic environment at Eyemouth Harbour.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys exploring the hills with his dog, embracing the outdoors and staying active.
