The Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) sets out a national standard for port marine safety. The PMSC applies to all harbour authorities and other marine facilities, berths, and terminals in the UK.

- As part of its compliance with the requirements of the PMSC, Eyemouth Harbour Trust (EHT) maintains a Marine Safety Management Plan for marine operations in Eyemouth Harbour, has independent Designated Person audits and reports its compliance with the PMSC to the MCA every 3 years.

Board of Eyemouth Harbour Trustees – Duty Holder Statement:
For the Eyemouth Harbour and all areas within its Statutory Harbour Limits, the Eyemouth Harbour Board of Trustees is the “Duty Holder” under the Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) obligation. Trustees are collectively and individually accountable for maintaining compliance with the PMSC and their performance in ensuring the safety of marine operations and that the relevant regulatory duties and powers are discharged in accordance with the PMSC whilst retaining the strategic oversight and direction of Port Governance and safe marine operations.
