Various contractors are currently on site and works are now underway around the harbour office building and Gunsgreen quayside, from w/c 7th December through into the New Year.
Access to parking around the building and the quayside areas will be restricted during this time; alternative parking is available at the Scottish Borders Council long stay car park at Gunsgreenhill. Various areas will be fenced off for safety, and to enable contractors to work unhindered. Space for day to day operational requirements; (fishing activity, landing, fuel and ice) has been set aside.
Works include:
- Installation of new fuel facility on Gunsgreen Quay, between the harbour office building and Gunsgreen House. This includes tank & fuel facility installation and commissioning for approx. 2 weeks.
- Relocation of electrical supplies (north end of the harbour building, behind the harbour building and along to the new fuel tank location) for approx. 5 weeks.
- New dive shore car park access to the north of the harbour building. Re-routing of the dive shore road (off road hammerhead) to join existing road. As the contractor is having to secure the entire site, there will be no vehicular access to the dive shore car park for approx. 8-10 weeks. There will still be pedestrian access to the site and coastal path. Works are expected to take approx. 8-10 weeks.
The public & visitors are urged to take extra care around the Gunsgreen area of the harbour and adhere to all safety signs & notices during these works.
